Pentraxins are plasma proteins characterized by their pentameric discoid assembly and their Ca2+ dependent ligand binding, such as Serum amyloid P component (SAP) and C-reactive Protein (CRP), which are cytokine-inducible acute-phase proteins implicated in innate immunity. CRP binds to ligands containing phosphocholine, SAP binds to amyloid fibrils, DNA, chromatin, fibronectin, C4-binding proteins and glycosaminoglycans. "Long" pentraxins have N-terminal extensions to the common pentraxin domain; one group, the neuronal pentraxins, may be involved in synapse formation and remodeling, and they may also be able to form heteromultimers. Function: Displays several functions associated with host defense: it promotes agglutination, bacterial capsular swelling, phagocytosis and complement fixation through its calcium-dependent binding to phosphorylcholine. Can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells. Subunit: Homopentamer. SWISS: P02741 Gene ID: 1401 Database links: Entrez Gene: 1401 Human Omim: 123260 Human SwissProt: P02741 Human Unigene: 76452 Human C反應(yīng)蛋白 CRP(C-reactive protin)是與C性肺炎球菌的多糖起反應(yīng)的一種蛋白,在某些細(xì)菌的感染過(guò)程中出現(xiàn)在血漿中。 CRP是在一些病理性情況下出現(xiàn)于病人血清中的一種糖蛋白,特別是在伴有肯炎癥和組織壞死疾病的急性期。血清中出現(xiàn)的這種異常蛋白能和肺炎C-多糖體發(fā)生沉淀反應(yīng),當(dāng)疾病好轉(zhuǎn)或緩解時(shí),CRP減低或消失。 臨床意義: (1)各種急性化膿性炎癥、菌血癥、組織壞死(心肌梗塞、手術(shù)、嚴(yán)重創(chuàng)傷、燒傷等)、惡性腫瘤、結(jié)締組織病、腎移殖后急性排異反應(yīng)、急性風(fēng)濕熱、風(fēng)濕性關(guān)節(jié)炎、類(lèi)風(fēng)濕性關(guān)節(jié)炎、心肌炎急性期、肺炎、肺結(jié)核、系統(tǒng)性紅斑狼瘡、急性肝炎和闌尾炎等,血清中CRP含量可增高,它的出現(xiàn)比其它急性期的反應(yīng)物質(zhì)早,所以對(duì)疾病的早期診斷很有幫助。 CRP可以鑒別細(xì)菌炎癥或者是病毒性炎癥。細(xì)菌性炎癥CRP可以明顯增高,而病毒性炎癥CRP的血清含量一般都在正常范圍。 |
